Cash register for a car wash from 01.02.2023
The Ministry of Finance has postponed the obligation to use fiscal cash registers for car washes from October 1, 2022, to February 2, 2023.
The obligation to use fiscal cash registers will now apply to car washes from February 1, 2023, instead of the initially planned date of October 1, 2022. This decision to extend the deadline is mainly due to difficulties faced by companies in acquiring and installing fiscal devices. It should be noted that according to the draft regulation, which was published on September 14, 2022, on the website of the Government Legislation Center, the deadline was proposed to be deferred to April 1, 2023.
The regulation provides for the postponement of the obligation to register services such as car washing, car cleaning, and similar services (PKWiU 45.20.30.0) using (fiscal) cash registers until February 1, 2023. This also applies to devices operated by the customers themselves, which, in an unmanned system, accept payments in coins, banknotes, or other forms of non-cash payment.
"The Ministry of Finance continuously monitored the industry of fiscal register manufacturers to ensure the availability of appropriate devices for use in car wash businesses. It also analyzed the problems reported by taxpayers who were required to install such devices regarding their acquisition and installation. Taking the above into account, and considering the ongoing disruptions in supply chains and the reported difficulties of entrepreneurs in this industry in acquiring and installing fiscal devices, the decision was made to reschedule the mandatory fiscalization deadline for this sector from October 1, 2022, to February 1, 2023," - as stated in the justification for the draft regulation.
The introduction of these changes is provided by the Regulation of the Minister of Finance of September 29, 2022, amending the regulation on exemptions from the obligation to keep sales records using cash registers.
The regulation comes into effect on September 30, 2022.
